Join us for Dr. Searle's lecture on Posture and the muscles involved in maintaining a healthy posture. View the deep and superficial back muscles such as serratus anterior, trapezius, levator scapulae and latissimus dorsi. Learn about the muscles involved in scapula stability and the rotator cuff. It's your chance to understand the relationship between the important postural muscles such as Psoas and Quadratus Lumborum.

Yoga Beginners workshop -6 MARCH 2011

Our yoga workshops are an excellent introduction into this marvellous form of fitness. The taster sessions last 2 hours and 15 minutes and cover the following:

* Basic Asanas (Postures) - Learn the common standing and seated postures

* Pranayama (Breathing Techniques) - Different types of breathwork are performed separately from the postures and help to focus and calm the mind

* Meditation (Guided Visualisation) - At the end of the session, enjoy lying in Savasana (corpse pose), whilst your instructor takes you on a wonderful mental journey through imagery and guided visualisation

* Relaxation - Contracting and relaxing the muscles as well as guided instruction, will help to induce physical and mental relaxation in the body and mind
